I moved to Riverside from Nashville, Tennessee in 2014. I joined the Riverside Road Runners one week after moving here. I did not know a soul in Riverside when I moved here other than my real estate agent, so I thought joining would be a great way to meet people who I had at least one thing in common with – running. I found the group to be so welcoming and helpful as I adjusted to life in Southern California. I have made wonderful friends that I see not only on Sunday mornings during the group runs, but other days during the week for other training runs and for social gatherings that don’t include running. When I was asked to serve on the board, how could I say no? This group was there to welcome me when I got here and has supported me ever since. My goal as a board member is to grow the membership and encourage more people in Riverside to run, be healthy and make new friends.
